Case Study Report

Location: Minnesota

Application Type: Indoor Go-Kart Track

Design: Two 30,000 CFM direct fired vertical heaters were installed to provide facility heating and ventilation. Variable air volumes allowed the unit to scale output to match ventilation needs, while building-wide cross ventilation drew emissions to the exhaust fan. Make-up air was introduced via fabric ducts to provide even air distribution throughout the facility.

Advantages:

  1. Nearly 100% efficient direct fired burners economically provide heated make-up air
  2. System incorporates variable frequency drives to prolong motor life
  3. Ventilation via 100% outside air effectively purges emissions from the space, satisfying ASHRAE 62.1
  4. Vertical make-up air units allow for zero roof loading and ground accessibility
  5. Equipment listed to ANSI Z83.4 while exceeding ASHRAE 90.1 efficiency standards
