Case Study Report

Location: Missouri

Application Type: Livestock Barn

Design: Swine facilities require proper ventilation in order to maximize production yields. Mechanical ventilation has been proven to increase yields over naturally ventilated facilities. RuppAir’s modular packaged unit (MPU) with interlocked exhaust fans was installed to efficiently heat, cool, and ventilate while also providing a large range of modulation to meet changing facility demands.

Advantages:

  1. Modular Packaged Units (MPUs) provide year-round tempering capability in a single packaged unit
  2. Properly sized exhaust provides fresh air and removes excess heat and undesired gasses
  3. System modulates to meet both winter and summer demands
  4. Propeller fans efficiently move large volumes of air in through-wall applications
  5. Mechanical ventilation provides year-round control and prevents animal stress, increasing yields
  6. Direct drive fans reduce maintenance costs by eliminating belts and external bearings
  7. Direct drive exhaust fans reduce operating costs via increased efficiency
  8. High efficiency filtration contributes to LEED certification
